The Power of Bad Advice

Have you ever wanted to vent and get some good advice?

We all have been in a situation where we take in advice and look to apply it to our lives. I am here to tell you that you must be cautious of the advice and counsel that you listen to.

If I asked what was the most expensive thing you can think of?
You would probably tell me a car, house, or a boat. Believe it or not, Bad Advice is the most expensive thing known to man because it has the scale and ability to ruin your life forever. Have you ever listened to someone and took their advice only to find yourself in a far worst situation than before. The catch is that we should only take advice from people who have done or experienced exactly what we are looking for.

Example: When you need advice about medicine, you would never ask your 13-year-old cousin!

However, for some reason, we will go to people for advice on a subject that they have no achievement and or experience in. The reason I say the achievement is because it is important to hear from the people that made it through the obstacles and were successful as opposed to the people who can only talk about the reasons why they didn't achieve (excuses).

Beware: It is common for family and close friends to give the worst advice. We tend to listen to them because we confide in them. Ensure that person has real knowledge or achievement in exactly your asking for.

We can also use people who failed as a guide on what not to do.

Overall: Be careful of who you listen to. If you want advice on relationships, it might not be the best idea to listen to closely to your uncle who divorced 3 times. If you want advice on your career path, it might not be the best idea to listen to your aunt who hasn't had a job since 1995. We can love and listen to our families but recognize who has achieved what and learn from their mistakes and never take bad advice!
